Luwire Wildlife Conservancy has donated an amazing adventure: a seven day trip down the remote Lugenda River in the beautiful Niassa region of northern Mozambique for eight people. You’ll spend four days on the water, and the final two days and nights in the Lugenda Camp where you’ll be treated to a night safari drive, and your choice of relaxing in camp, a photo safari, or walking the Ngalongue Inselberg range where you’ll visit caves once inhabited by the Batwa and Hadsa people who left their ancient cave paintings for future visitors to enjoy.

You will travel downriver by two man inflatable kayak. You’ll camp in tents along the river, enjoy sundowners around the evening campfire and chef-prepared breakfast and shore lunches and dinners. This stretch of the river is runnable regardless of your paddling experience. It does not require an advanced level of fitness but rather just a good sense of adventure. It is perfect for anyone who is reasonably fit. If you like skiing you will love this trip.

This trip is for the 2022 season with the optimal time, based on river flow, being May 1 through July 15. The lucky winner can customize the length of the trip if the need to shorten is called for. The auction winner can upgrade to add hunting with Paul Stones Safaris Africa at Paul’s standard rates, license fees, etc.

All meals, drinks, and camping accommodations and supplies are included. Excluded items are transportation costs from the buyers home to Luwire, roundtrip charter flights from Pemba (approximately $500per person), and gratuities.

This is truly an adventure of a lifetime – one that few have ever taken. DSC FOUNDATION THANKS LUWIRE WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY FOR THIS INCREDIBLE DONATION. Luwire Wildlife Conservation www.luwire.org, Paul Buckley pbuckley@luwire.org,
