This magnificent circa 1970s Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace showcases a double strand design of silver pearls with four Sleeping Beauty turquoise nuggets on each side and five turquoise nuggets on the Naja. Each is a perfect match with a striking deep blue color and distinct black web from the Sleeping Beauty Arizona mine. The workmanship on the silver scrolling is unique to this necklace, with a hallmark of master silversmith Phil Garcia, a well-known Navajo silversmith. As with many native cultures, wealth was often worn in the form of adornment and in many early photographs of the Navajo and other Southwestern Native peoples, Squash Blossom necklaces were worn with pride and reverence for their beauty and inherent value. Weighs 2.1 oz and measures 11.5" in length when closed and 20" overall. DSC FOUNDATION THANKS DSC NEW MEXICO CHAPTER FOR THIS 100% DONATION.
